Beverly Hills Seismic Retrofit Program (Ordinance 18-O-2767)
Beverly Hills adopted Ordinance 18-O-2767, its mandatory seismic retrofit program, effective January 11, 2019. The city identified roughly 300 wood-frame buildings with soft, weak, or open-front ground floors and required owners to strengthen them on a tiered schedule.
Those compliance deadlines have now passed, with the final tier due July 6, 2023, so any un-retrofitted building is past due.
