Services
Cal Retrofit operates in the structural-compliance corridor of Southern California construction. Every service below is delivered end-to-end under one license.
Each Cal Retrofit service is delivered as a complete program: permit, fabrication, install, certification, with one point of accountability for the property owner.
S01 · Service
Soft-story retrofits under city ordinance. Permitting, steel installation, and city inspection, handled end-to-end, with engineering by our partner Naxa.

S02 · Service
SB-721 and SB-326 exterior elevated element repair, waterproofing, and recertification. The licensed contractor who executes the fix after the inspection.

S03 · Service
For dedicated ADU design and delivery, our sister companies lead: ADU Concepts for single-family and multifamily ADUs, and LyteMods for panelized light-gauge-steel ADU homes. Cal Retrofit provides the structural, foundation, and permitting support where an ADU pairs with retrofit work on the same lot.

S04 · Service
Water is the number-one cause of structural deterioration in Southern California buildings. Waterproofing is not a finish coat, it is building maintenance that protects the structure underneath.
Water intrusion drives dry rot, steel corrosion, and mold, the exact damage that fails balconies and decks under SB-721 and SB-326. Stop the water and you stop the failure.
Once water reaches the framing, the repair is no longer a coating, it is structural. Waterproofing done right, on schedule, is a fraction of the cost of the damage it prevents.
Coastal salt air, seasonal rain, and irrigation each attack the envelope differently. We select the system by the building's location, exposure, and use, not one product for every surface.
Applications we install
01
Traffic-bearing waterproof membranes for exterior elevated elements: decks, balconies, walkways, and stair landings. The system that keeps water off the framing and keeps EEEs compliant after repair.
02
Membranes, coatings, and drainage for basements, retaining walls, and foundations, stopping the water intrusion that undermines a structure from the ground up.
03
Flashings, sealants, coatings, and air-and-water barriers that keep the wall assembly dry, protecting sheathing, framing, and interior finishes.
04
Fluid-applied and sheet systems for roof decks, podium slabs, and flat transitions where standing water and foot traffic meet.
Single-component or reinforced, fluid-applied or sheet, we match the system to the building. One product does not fit a coastal balcony and a below-grade wall.

04 · Capabilities
The chain that keeps a Cal Retrofit project moving: permitting, fabrication, installation, and closeout under one license. Structural engineering and balcony inspection reports are handled by our sister company Naxa.

C02
We pull the permits. We respond to plan check. We coordinate every back-and-forth with the city so the project keeps moving.
C03
Repair, structural remediation, waterproofing, and recertification of exterior elevated elements. Inspection reports handled with our engineering partner Naxa.
C04
Moment frames, cantilever columns, beam-and-post systems, and steel reinforcement for seismic retrofit and structural repair.
C05
Foundation repair, leveling, and stabilization, plus waterproofing for exterior elevated elements and below-grade structures.
C06
Licensed and insured crews. Documented quality control. Communication that doesn't disappear once the contract is signed.
05 · Also available
Beyond the three primary services, Cal Retrofit handles related general-contractor scope for owners who already trust us with their property.
01 · Scope
Structural foundation repair, leveling, and stabilization for residential and multifamily properties across Southern California. The structural work that keeps a retrofit sound from the ground up.
02 · Scope
Surface and subsurface drainage, area drains, and grading corrections that move water away from the structure before it ever becomes a waterproofing problem.
03 · Scope
Removal and replacement of water-damaged framing, sheathing, and structural members uncovered during balcony, deck, and envelope repair.
Available as bolt-on scope on retrofit, balcony, or foundation contracts, or as standalone work. Ask during your free site assessment.
